To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}10/N.29.8.38. Cricklewood Depot. Re Tools. The Black and Decker grinding tool for valve seats is being used at Derby, Kingsbury and Paris, and has proved to be a great asset in producing true seatings and is a big time saver. No grinding with abrasive metal is needed. Can Cricklewood be instructed to obtain this tool? Re: Oil. The filling up of engines, gearboxes, rear axles, is carried out by the old fashioned methods of measures and loose oil. One of the first things I noticed at Kingsbury was the use of a run-about 10 gallon drum complete with hand pump, pipe and nozzle, which they used for filling rear axles. The amount of oil delivered being determined by the turns of the pump. In investigating this, I learnt that these units are loaned from Wakefields, providing their oils are used. They are obtainable for engine oils, and gear oil, which I persuaded K.{Mr Kilner} to obtain, cutting out all loose oils. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W.
