X.3782 - P& R LIGHT WEIGHT BATTERIES FOR SAUNDERS MOTOR BOAT.(MAPLE LEAF CONDOR)

Reference yours EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T1/F29.7.20, these batteries have been obtained from the Stores this morning but are dry and it is necessary to put them through the procedure of first charge. We are, however, on with this at the moment and have promised for these batteries to be ready at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning. We have arranged with Mr. Stott that he makes all the necessary arrangements for the despatch of these, so that our responsibility finishes at having these ready in a condition for despatch at 11 a.m. to-morrow.

The batteries will be empty of electrolyte, but upon arrival at their destination it will be necessary to fill these with acid of 1200 density, and give them several hours charging again to bring them to the gassing condition. This is absolutely necessary before attempting to use them for starting purposes.
