R.{Sir Henry Royce} has expressed a wish that the Canvas Rubber fan belt should not be run choc-a-bloc for fear of overloading the belt. We therefore recommend that on tests the spring should be tightened up choc-a-bloc and then slackened off half a turn or so of the adjustment, so that the belt will be virtually spring loaded and yet the fan will not be able to move about.
