Mr. c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} BY.12/G.16.8.39. F.I.H. PHANTOM III. STEERING ROCKER SHAFT. With reference to Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}10/G.15.8.39. the information confirms our previous experience, it also indicates that we have a wide factor of safety against a fractured shaft, and the proposed increase of .025 per side will not materially reduce the advantages referred to, and I would therefore agree with going ahead immediately with the proposal in the memo quoted above for the issue of Depot Sheet.
