R.R. 253a (100 T) (S.H. 159, 11-5-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 28/8 X.4050 G.F.E - Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG. 23rd. Nov. 1920. Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Aston Cross, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. W. Bond. Further to our letter ref:- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}14/LG of the 22nd.inst. with reference to the latest set of your straight-sided tyres. We have carried out some further tests on these tyres and find that there is a material improvement in the silence of these tyres if we reverse the direction of the pattern of the tread. If we have them the opposite way round to what you recommend we find that there is very much less noise. We shall be giving the car a long run tomorrow with the tyres this way and will let you know further what our conclusions are. We have not been able to appreciate any difference in the non-skidding qualities of the tyre whichever way we have the pattern of the tread. Yours faithfully, RECEIVED. NOV 24 1920 | ||
