X540 71st Meeting Re 1752 - Winthrop Nov 7.11. Mr. Nadin informed the Committee that Mr. Winthrop objected to having to take his luggage off the car in order to refill the tank with petrol, and "S" enquired if we could arrange a special funnel. X5335 Mr. Spinney had gone into this matter and submitted a sketch showing an auxiliary tank fitted under the seat to hold 9 gallons of petrol. It was suggested that the rear tank could be X5335 filled from this tank, and thus when luggage was placed on the grid, the rear tank could be filled by lifting one of the front seats. It was agreed that this alternative should be placed before the customer. | ||
