| To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} X236. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.19.4.33 RECEIVED 19 MAY 1933 re Bensport Piston. We send you herewith: LeC.3447 - showing an improved piston which we consider we have strengthened in the correct place, to overcome the recent reported failure, in which a piece of metal was torn away adjacent to the split. What we have done is to stiffen the metal local to the horizontal sawcut. We have made the skirt of the piston .5" longer. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
