Dear Capt. Wilks,

Many thanks for your letters of the 20th inst. and for the information on the stabilising bumper. I am getting into touch with Mr.Breeden of Wilmot Breeden Ltd.

With regard to the Chrysler patent on "Floating Power Suspension", I cannot believe they have any original claim unless it is raising the mounting at the front so that the line joining the two supports passes through the centre of gravity of the power unit. What this is worth in improving engine smoothness I do not know. Quite apart from our patent of 1913, we did a lot of post-war work a long time before they announced their floating power, and I think we covered the ground fairly thoroughly. However I am extracting all the information I can from our patent specialist, and I will send it on to you in due course.

Yours sincerely,
