Dear Sirs,

re. 20.HP. R-R ALL-WEATHER CAR.

Mr. Royce wishes me to personally inform you of his extreme pleasure with the all weather body you have built him, and he has decided to take this car with him to the south of France next week.

There are two little points we would like altered before it goes -

(1) One is that we think there is unnecessary movement between the scuttle and the dash, and we would like to have the two held together by 2 bolts, one either side of the top bonnet hinge. We spoke to you about this on the 'phone this afternoon. These parts have spherical heads, with spherical washers, and pull the dash up to the scuttle through a soft block. We have asked our Sales Department to let you have these pieces, and we enclose herewith a sketch of the arrangement.

(2) The other item is that we wish to attach the instrument board to the scuttle armature in a manner indicated in the sketch herewith. This will stop the steering column swaying sideways unduly. The two strips of metal we would like you to make out of any thin strip material you have.

The writer proposes to bring you the car on Monday next about 2 to 3 p.m.

We thank you very much for offering to do the job straight away for us, and hope you will be able to let one of our men take the car by Wednesday evening next week at the latest.

We apologise for this rush but the date of shipment of the car has been fixed and we are rather anxious that the very best should be made of the job so as to give your body every chance.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
