RE BLACK FINISH TO CONTROL QUADRANT.
The sample which you referred to me is, I think, quite satisfactory as regards the quality of the black finish. I do not think the white lettering is very good and we have tried to-day re-engraving this lettering, so that it shows up as German Silver. This is an improvement, and I think therefore we should order Messrs. Lucas to deliver these fittings black all over, and we will then clean out the lettering on our engraving machines. Mr. Hall is now going further to see if he can reproduce this finish, but we shall require Messrs. Lucas to complete at least fifty sets for us.
Will you please instruct them accordingly.
