WST

For the attention of Mr. West.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to Mr. West's call to-day, in connection with the Rev-Clock which he brought back, we beg to report that we have examined this and find that this is one of the earlier instrument supplied, and the instrument shows definite signs of having been opened and dismantled. It is absolutely certain that we should not ourselves have sent the instrument out with the hands in the condition of these, as the hour hand was bent downwards towards the dial and touching same.

This, of course, is not the same as the one which we had back, where the dial had cocked up slightly under the hands and caused them to be loose. We have only on record one instance of this occurring.

We are putting the Rev-Clock returned by you into perfect order and will return it to you on Monday, or Tuesday of next week, and, as this is being used, presumably, on a demonstration car, we are making no charge for this work. We shall also fit two extra screws to the dial, holding it down around the position of the clock movement. This now means that the dial is screwed down by seven screws, four of which are so definitely related to the area where the clock dial is that there can be no possible question of any moving up towards the hands, whatever the vibration at high speed, etc. We attach hereto copy of a letter we wrote to Derby, in reply to their of the 5th inst. on this subject.

Yours faithfully,
For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD.,

HRBuckland
Director.
