Re Free Wheel for Gear Box Mr Johnson 9.5.12. TBB1/L9512. You have asked for a report concerning the Committee's recommendation that we should design and construct two sets of free wheel gear boxes similar to that fitted to Mr Claremont's car. As set forth in the Minutes of the 114th Meeting the Committee were not satisfied that the device would be satisfactory although the changing of gear was demonstrated to be more easily effected. They stated clearly their objections to the scheme which were apparently valid, but at the same time considered that the best and most definite way of proving whether the device had any value or not would be to make actual tests. The device had apparently given every satisfaction to Mr Claremont over a This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
