Re Phantom III Die Cast Auxiliary Front Brake Shoes.
The method of holding in position the axis pin of the die cast auxiliary front brake shoe, shown on N.Sch.5026, has been queried. The bearing pin is a tight fit in the shoe and is shown held in by means of two long taper pins. It is suggested that these taper pins may be replaced by split pins. We are agreeable to try this provided stout split pins are used.
