To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. X2894 EFC2/T1 3.5.26. X.2894 - TUNGSTEN CONTACT POINTS. We have now received the one doz. battery ignition contact breaker levers and point screws fitted with tungsten points. Firstly, I should be pleased for it to be confirmed that these were done entirely by Messrs. W.H. Reynolds and do not concern Messrs. Johnson Matthey. Secondly, we have a complaint in regard to these - that the amount of doming on the screw points is excessive, and very much more than we requested, when we said - "It is necessary to have the screw point only ground to a small sphericity, or dome, just sufficient to take up any want of correct bedding of the otherwise flat surfaces." The amount of doming provided, however, will accommodate no less than 20° mis-alignment, which is a quite unnecessary amount. We only wish it to accommodate just a few degrees in order to prevent contact being made entirely with the edge, should a slight mis-alignment occur. We therefore venture to return these. Whough we can easily get them corrected in our Expl. Dept. we thought perhaps you would prefer to return them for the suppliers themselves to correct, so that they would know better what we should require in any future order.
