CJ. writes as follows :-
"Would you please ascertain from the heads
"of every department at Derby, and report to me,
"whether it is understood by all who use the tele-
"phone that, if they wish to use the company's
"telephone for private purposes, before asking
"for the number, they should inform the operator
"that it is a private call ? The operator will
"then make arrangements for the user to be charged
"for the call."
