| (2) E:1/HP.20.9.32. scheme for the sliding joint. These modifications are being dealt with. (7) Clutch. Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine)s 2 and 3 have been instructed with clutches similar to the first chassis except for slight modifications to reduce noise, etc. We are awaiting the final scheme for the clutch from WW. Handwritten note: Scaled down Jm {Mr Morley} (8) Gearbox. Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) chassis following Nos.2 and 3 will be arranged to take the automatic control for the shock dampers. This involves some slight alteration to the gearbox. (9) Shock Dampers. Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) 2 will be fitted with the standard 20/25 shock dampers, and with front axle control. Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) 3 will have the J.3. type of damper, also with front axle control. Subsequent chassis will be like Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) 3, with the addition of automatic control for the degree of damping, as mentioned in item (8). (10) Brakes. Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) 2 and 3 will be instructed like the first chassis with direct braking on the rear only; subsequent chassis will have direct braking on all four wheels, which it is expected will overcome the various troubles with knocks and thumps. (11) Central Lubrication. This will be instructed on Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine)s 2 and 3 similar to the first chassis. A modified scheme is in hand for substituting Luvax fittings in place of the present banjos with sweated joints. (12) Brake and Gear Levers. These will be the same as on the first chassis of Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) 2 and 3, except for the modification in connection with stopping the binding effect of the | ||
