OIL PUMP AND DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE.
Please find herewith print of LeC. 2883. dealing with the above.
The design is not quite finished off as regards details of the ignition gear, but as we are anxious to finish up as far as possible the particulars of the crankcase.
We have chosen the single governor scheme. The friction of the bearings in the two ignition units introduce some hysteresis in the ignition advance control but this should not be very much.
We shew the oil blow off conducted to the upper gearbox of the tower so that it will lubricate the whole of the running gear and provide a bath for the spiral gears below. A return hole at a suitable height back to the crankcase will be provided.
A print of LeC. 2883. is also attached to BY's copy.
