OCTANE VALUE OF TWO SAMPLES OF FUEL.

Two samples of fuel from Holland were submitted for test on the Single Cylinder Units, investigation of their anti-detonating qualities only being desired.

Consumption loops run with these fuels are shown together with typical loops on fuel of 77 and 87 octane value, all tests being carried out on one unit under similar running conditions.

These tests show that, as far as detonation is concerned, both fuels may be used as an alternative where a fuel of 87 octane value is otherwise specified.
