Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 18th ultimo relative to Ethylene Glycol as an anti-freeze; we regret the delay in giving you the desired particulars, but this has been due to the fact that our Works have been examining the product from the point of view of your requirements.

They now state that Ethylene Glycol would be quite suitable for use in Chassis Radiators, and so far as they are aware, it would not have any deleterious action on the joints in your cooling system or on the cylinder heads and radiator tubes.

For your information, we append suggested mixtures for use as an anti-freeze, together with the various freezing points. For ordinary purposes, a solution which does not freeze above 20° F.{Mr Friese} is sufficient (that is, 17½ Glycol by volume) to fulfil these conditions.
