steering column. So that the pedals can be conveniently placed the steering column passes through the dash high up, the brake ped- al being in the centre. Owing to the choice of location of the centre of the long pedal levers, the motion of the foot is extreme- ly comfortable and effective. The clutch and brake pedals are fitted with rubber surfaces.

(O). INSTRUMENT BOARD.

Is carried from the dash by brackets in 2 standard pos- itions, corresponding to the 2 positions of the steering column. It is fitted with the following (reading from the left.):-

(1) Clock.
(2) Chassis No. Plate.
(3) Speed Indicator.
(4) Thermometer Gauge.
(5) Radiator Shutter Control.
(6) Mixture control & starting carburetter lever.
(7) Ammeter.
(8) Oil pressure gauge.
(9) Dashboard light.
(10) Switchbox.

These fittings form part of the standard equipment of the chassis with the exception of Nos. 1 & 3. With regard to these latter it is to the advantage of owners to have the models recommended by the RR. Co. as they have been well tested, and ow- ing to the ease of fitting, better value cannot be obtained.

The switchbox is fitted with 2 handles, one controlling the lighting, and the other controlling the ignition and dynamo. This switch box can be locked by the Yale type of key when the ignition is off, and either the lamps are off, or the side and tail lights only burning. It contains a connection socket for the inspection lamp, and also a press button for the dashboard light. It is of lasting and reliable construction, and it is very easy and convenient to operate, the cams being controlled by a single spring, and working with great sweetness. It is of RR. design and construction throughout.
