ENGINE. The power and acceleration was up to standard. Carburation free from luffing up with fitting of spring on air piston. Engine was free from misfires. Half crankshaft period more noticeable. CLUTCH. The engagement was on the fierce side, clutch fabric coupling in a very bad condition and will have to be changed. GEARBOX. Change of gears remains lumpy and gear lever occasionally sticks. STEERING. Good standard. HYDRAULIC DAMPERS. Remain free from audible knocks. oil leaks negligible. Control system showed no leaks, slight squeak from pump chamber in maximum load position. BRAKES. Effective, front thump. Rear brakes all adjustment taken up. SPRINGING. Maximum position used throughout test. Riding conditions, hard in the rear seats, front not so noticeable. With maximum loads carried, riding qualities improved. REAR AXLE. Leaks oil very badly down axle tubes, and from pinion housing. G.W.H. | ||
