Axle Pivots - Bumping Test.- X 241
(Handwritten '168' above '241')

Mr Hives 27-2-13

During Mr Platford's conversation with Mr Royce last week and Mr Royce suggested that we should carry out a series of bumping tests on the front axle, i.e. the front of the car may, picked up and allowed to drop again.

The result could be introduced by bolting an axle at right angles to the direction in which it is usually fixed and bumping it by means of our standard wooden baulk.

I have given this experiment a new number so that it can be kept distinct from X 23 "Front axle bumping tests" and X 168 "Front axle pivot test" and so be reported upon separately.

P. A.{Mr Adams} Wormald.
