Having now tried dynamo No.562 with taper pole pieces on chassis 3-GII we find some dynamo noise still to exist which is evident by switching on and off the charge. We are not certain, however, that this may not be a bearing effect, as it was noticed by us that there was a slight tightness of the bearings. We think it might be worth while trying this machine say with the present bearings eased a little, or with bearings that are rather easier. Even though the noise does not occur when the charge is switched off, we think there still may be a condition of the bearing which, with the extra pull on the armature, allows the noise to take place. Will you therefore replace this dynamo on 3GII after making the modification which you decide. We will then again try this machine. E.F.C EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E.
