BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to S. WDR. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} J.3. CRANKCASE ETC. E1/M29.9.31. X5000 We send herewith LeC. 2944., and prints of LeCs. 2947. and 2958. The first named shews the oil pump installation and drive, the oil relief unit and connections, and the details of the crankchamber where involved. We should be glad if you would now scrap the advance print of this drawing LeC. 2944. sent some little while ago. Details of the front facing of crankcase are given on both LeC. 2944. and 2947., and the latter also shews the features required for the front suspension. LeC. 2958. shews the rear end facing and end view of the crankcase. The pocket shewn for the starter motor is after the style of P. 2. and it is proposed to operate the electric starter on the same principle, using a pinion pushed out from the motor controlled by sequence switching.
