Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AD21.11.29 contd. -2- (3) Phantom II hydraulic shock absorbers are quite independent of temperature variation internally or externally. (4) The front shock absorber loading must not be made less than 60 lbs up and down or high speed wobbles will occur. We believe that you may be justified in the complaint you make; our view, however, is that with the means at your disposal it is difficult to effect a better compromise than we have at present. If the complaint is sufficiently serious to damage sales then we must put it up to the design department for their consideration. Apparently from the owner of 7-WJ it is, we shall be interested to know if you can satisfy this owner by altering the shock absorber loads.
