'O' SERIES CHASSIS.

Will you please note that it has been definitely decided that the last 70 chassis in 'O' series will have to be produced with the larger bore engine, and the improved gears for the 3rd speed, also the reverse pinion which the third speed meshes with.

For these gears we will have to use the present standard material but with the increased obliquity tooth. This does not, of course, refer to 'P' series, as on 'P' series we must have the new material.

The D.O. should at once issue instructions, and the Order Office should withdraw the cards on all the parts affected which they will be aware of from the parts which we have held in 'P' series, so that the Works will be immediately stopped on the parts not required and new instructions will be issued as soon as possible for the parts required for the larger bore.

This also means that we shall require the new crankshaft with larger diameter journals and pins, and new connecting rods with of course the main bearings and bushes etc. to suit.

This matter is most urgent.
