IF DETONATION OCCURS ON TEST IGNITION TO BE RETARDED BY MEANS OF VERNIER. THE ANTICIPATED SETTING FOR SHELL No. 1 IS BETWEEN 2 & 4 ON THE VERNIER SCALE.

THE INSTRUCTION BOOK SHOULD REFER TO THE USE OF THE VERNIER TO SUIT THE FUEL USED. No 3 PETROLS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.
