PETROL RATION My total petrol ration (13 gallons supplementary + 4 gallons basic) does not enable me to travel to work by car throughout the month. The distance from my home to Clan Foundry is 10.7 miles and my M.P.G. 33.8 (summer), so that my total monthly requirement is 10.7 x 2 x 31 ------------- = 19.5. 33.8 My supplementary ration should therefore 19.5 - 4 = 15.5 gallons, instead of the present 13.
