To Lp.{Mr Lappin} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lov.{Mr Lovesey} 84033. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lov.{Mr Lovesey}10/MJ.23.3.31. AUTOMATIC BOOST CONTROL. When our automatic boost control was first tried at Farnborough the other week they said that as regards the "feel" of the operation of this in flight, it was not as good as the Armstrong Siddeley or the Bristol control. They say the Armstrong Siddeley scheme is best from the pilot's point of view, with the Bristol scheme coming next. We naturally understand their enthusiasm for the Armstrong Siddeley schemes as it originated at R.A.E. At the same time we think it would be very useful to us if we could see both the Armstrong Siddeley and the Bristol schemes in operation on some machine. Would it be possible for us to arrange to have a look at these, and if installed in two seater machines, we should like the opportunity of observing it in flight for comparison with our own system. We believe they have the Armstrong Siddeley system in operation at Farnborough, but we should prefer to make our observations elswhere if possible. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.C.Lovesey. | ||
