Wraith II
Rear Brakes.
We send herewith N.Sch.5011 showing modifications to the rear brake linkage to reduce cost as follows:-
(1) The sheet metal felt retaining washers are altered in shape to simplify manufacture. Faces have to be provided on the forgings for the felt to bear against with this scheme.
(2) Various packing washers have been deleted.
(3) Tab washers are used for the long bolts on the equaliser instead of split pins.
(4) The spiral nut at the bottom of the forward equaliser is retained to give the clearance but it is reduced in size and bar.
...is used for the hand brake pull rod joint.
(6) The boss for the equaliser on the hand brake shaft bracket is slightly increased in diameter to enable the washer to be deleted.
N.Sch.5011 herewith.
E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /HDY. {William Hardy}
