To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 8205 E2/M19.7.26. BOW SPRING TYPE OF CONTROL FOR RELIEF VALVE. In reply to your memo. BY9/H15.7.26., it was never intended that one side of the spring bow should become negative, and all our drawings shew the two sides of the bow of equal length. We have taken the model apart and corrected this point and it now works perfectly. At the same time we have transferred the washers from under the fixing screws to a position beneath the spring which has the advantage of increasing the flexibility of the lower member of the bow, and which alteration should be adopted. We are returning the altered model herewith for your inspection. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
