The brakes do not allow for any slight error in judging distance at these high speeds.

Petrol consumption on the Autobahn as calculated by speedometer reading and fuel gauge for 85 and 100 miles is, 13 m.p.g. or 22 L/100 Km. All running cut-out open.

After reducing tyre pressures to original for road work, the car was driven back to Metz on the return to Paris.

On the outward run violent acceleration brought up half crankshaft period when hot, but on the return journey this was never apparent with the throttle used gently.
Crankshaft damper was set at 14 lbs.
