RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. to Sft.{Mr Swift} TP. EFC. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Mr. Brook X 4079 a BY/WER5/EF27. 1. 22. EXPERIMENTAL X. 4079c - "GOSHAWK" 11. COIL FOR BATTERY IGNITION "B" TYPE COILS. It is now suggested that we should wind the secondary of "Goshawk" 11. Coils with 43 S.W.G. (.0036) instead of 41^2 S.W.G. (.004) as we understand there is a large quantity of the former gauge wire in the Stores which at present is not allocated to any series of coils. As a preliminary step towards the above we suggest that four of the half dozen "B" Type Coils which we recently instructed (BY/WER2/EF16. 1. 22) should have the secondary winding wound with as many turns of 43 S.W.G. (.0036) enamell coated wire as it is practicable to wind on, if possible 21.000+500-500. Thus you may therefore cancel paragraph four of BY/WER2/EF16. 1. 22. BY/WER. WtR [Handwritten in left margin]: Sufficient to wind 200 Coils so I understand [Stamped on bottom right]: RECEIVED JAN 27 1922 | ||
