Comparison of centrifugal stress on 'Hyco' and 'No.6' materials or designs.

These figures confirm the theory that there is a weakest direction for "Hyco". We are pleased to see that the joint does not appear to cause a weakness in "No.6".

The actual centrifugal stress with the clutch disengaged at top engine speed is 2000 lbs/sq.in. for "Hyco" and 1280 lbs/sq.in. for "No.6" (less owing to its lower density). It would appear therefore that "No.6" ought to be strong enough for this application.
