Notice from the Inspection Department regarding a dimensional concession for Merlin II cylinder blocks.

| INSPECTION DEPT. Ref: X.59253. Merlin II Cylinder Blocks. 31/X & 32/X. It has been found that on certain Blocks of the above type the dimension from the face of the vertical drive flange to the centre line of the crankshaft is slightly in excess of that stipulated on the drawing. Will you please note that these Blocks may be passed for service if this dimension does not exceed .952". This concession has been approved by the A.I.D. and will be covered by a retrospective MOD.
