JShaw Experimental Department. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}9/JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary}22.4.40. 22.4.40. Messrs. Light Production Co. Ltd., 60/66, Rochester Row, WESTMINSTER. Dear Sirs, Regarding split skirt pistons. We send you herewith our revised drawings as follows: 75 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} RB.{R. Bowen}784 Piston. RE.787 Grinding. 3.250" RE.785 Piston. RE.788. Grinding. 3.500" RE.786 Piston. EW.2065 Grinding. These have been compiled by past experience of a successful operation of an identical design, over thousands of miles, and many hundreds of chassis. At the same time we have reverted to our peculiar method of grinding, as here again, the bedding was arrived at after a considerable amount of development, to produce a dead quiet piston. Finally, this design will come out one ounce lighter than the equivalent 'Zeralite' size. | ||
