COUNTY BOROUGH OF DERBY TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE MARKET PLACE, DERBY. TEL No. 2477 EXT. 4 OFFICIAL OPENING OF DERBY AIRPORT 17TH JUNE 1939 25th. May, 1939. Mr. Hives, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Mr. Hives, I understand you are kindly placing six Rolls-Royce cars at my disposal on June 16th. and 17th. for the Airport Opening, and I should be glad if you would arrange that the drivers leave the Town Hall at noon on Saturday, June 17th. in a procession with the Air Minister, the Mayor and Mayoress, and officials of the Airport Committee, to proceed to the Airport. This procession will have good publicity value, and they are due at the Airport about 12.35.
