To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. Chateauroux. 600a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.7/MH.{M. Huckerby}26.2.38. Referring to your daily report of 23/2/38, we note that you have moved the thermometer bulb to the rear of the cylinder head in order to avoid fouling the R.R. distributor. We believe that the bulb can still be fitted in the front position if it is fitted after distributor top is in position - we have this arrangement on 27.G.VI here. While this is not satisfactory as a production job, we would like you to continue running with the bulb in the front position (we are looking into the methods of avoiding this foul) as it is the front position that we wish to standardise.
