X.6020 Phantom II Ignition Wire Tubes.

We send you herewith print of Sch. 1203 showing recommendation to make the above tubes from aluminium tubes with a paper lining and rubber inserts instead of the present steel tubes which are covered with vulcanite.

The aluminium tubes could be polished on the outside or stove black enamelled, but we are of the opinion that the latter would be preferable. The enamel could be left off the points where the clips are fitted, particularly the one carrying the battery ignition wires. You will remember he has already written to the effect that he considers the vulcanised tubes to be out of date.

We should be glad to have your views in regard to the above, also to know if you agree that we may introduce same as standard.
