Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}2/F.14.5.40. 1138 re B.80 MARINE ENGINES - and A.{Mr Adams} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} HAGG ESQ. I have this morning received a letter from Mr. Hagg stating that he has now had a discussion with Imperial Airways, and he fears they may follow the lead of the Air Ministry and go to Diesel Engines for their boats,(if they can afford it.) He states they will not know how they stand financially for some time. As soon as any definite decision has been reached he has promised to communicate with us again. In the meantime, you may remember I mentioned that Messrs. Samuel White of Cowes were enquiring about an Auxiliary Engine for M.T.B's. I think they might be worth chasing up in case Imperial Airways fall through. I feel convinced they are building a large number of craft other than M.T.B's and that we may persuade them to install two engines in a hull which would be readily accessible to us. If you agree I will make contact with them. AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson} | ||
