CIRCUIT SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS REF. E.D.H./J.T.P./ DATE 18.2.37 Handwritten: W.J.T. SUBJECT. OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. It is noticed that in a number of cases where cars come in to the Works for test, the oil pressure gauge is reading very high. This may be due to some extent to the particular kind of oil that is being used, but it is felt that the gauge itself is not giving a true indication of the lubrication pressure. Will you please therefore arrange that in future all oil pressure gauges fitted to cars are tested and if necessary re-calibrated to read correctly at normal temperatures, and before being passed off test. This should be done irrespective of whether the gauge has been returned from the makers for repair or not. It is, of course, understood that gauges returned from the makers should be re-calibrated as a matter of course. | ||
