HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X3529 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H1.3.26. re. Autovac & Faulty Slow running. The above is still a general fault and one about which we are receiving complaints, but we have daily been expecting the improved bye-pass valve to be fitted as standard, and I was surprised to learn the other day from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} that this had not yet been standardised. I understood some time ago that you had obtained reports from all parties concerned which were sufficiently favourable to recommend standardising. Unless you have any definite reason to the contrary, I certainly recommend that this scheme should be standardised without delay, if you have no better proposal to offer, since, although it is not a definite cure, it appears to have been established that it is a definite improvement. Could BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please arrange to order about a dozen of these special valves, which could be kept in stock and used for troublesome complaints, as we seem to have used up all those we had, including those from the Experimental Dept.
