X.7005 E4/M7.1.29. R.{Sir Henry Royce} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 'SS{S. Smith}' ENGINE SUSPENSION. We are expecting any moment to hear from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} as regards the results obtained with SS.{S. Smith} engine mounted on rigid front feet and flexible feet with rigid friction at rear to scheme LeC.2634 In the meantime we are drawing a rubber lined schemed of the type mentioned in E1/M7.1.29 as a possible alternative. This scheme has 4 rigid feet mounted on the engine and carried on rubber liners in the frame, crankcase expansion being allowed to parallelogram the rubber in the plan view. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P.S. We have just received your notes concerning rubber lined feet, and are proceeding accordingly. | ||
