(Dictated 14.10.40) JIM CROWS - CLAN FOUNDRY. ----------------------- Confirming our discussion on the subject this afternoon:- 1. We understand that watchers go to their positions at the Works on receipt of a yellow warning. You will arrange with the Works that the Clan shall receive notice of yellow warning from the Works Control Office. We cannot get one locally; we have tried. 2. The Works presumably will be providing powerful glasses for the use of the watchers. In the meantime I have a pair which I will lend, but these are not very good. 3. The watchers should operate in pairs. Presumably the watchers will be selected from the L.D.V. on duty for the day. 4. The lookout position will be the petrol tank staging. A horn should be arranged which can be operated by means of a switch on the top of the staging and will sound in the shop. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
