S. U. PETROL PUMPS FOR BENTLEY CHASSIS.

Arising out of the result of the various notes and discussions re the trouble we have experienced with these Pumps, due to incorrectly designed Unions, kindly note, I would confirm the arrangements discussed with Sft.{Mr Swift} last night.

(a) The S. U. Company admit frankly they cannot deliver more than 12 such Pumps per week. This is their present maximum output and it will not be possible to increase this in the immediate future.

(b) They have already proceeded with completion of the necessary Unions to the new design and despatched some 170 last night. A further 50 or so will leave by road this afternoon and the balance to complete the 76 Pumps delivered to date will be sent forward by the middle of next week.

(c) It is agreed with Sft.{Mr Swift} in the circumstances the Unions themselves shall be changed by our people on the Pumps and not new Pumps supplied in place thereof.

(d) Order No. 55882 has already been issued on the Shops covering such work, the cost of which will be debited to the S. U. Company in due course.

(e) The Pumps despatched last night and from now onwards will bear a label clearly indicating they are fitted with the modified Unions.
