1LEX CHASSIS No. 1EX EAC.8 Body fitted - Hooper open touring. Brief description. Standard Phantom engine, gearbox, rear axle, brakes, springing and steering. Front axle control, cast dash, engine 1.5" further forward, bonnet 1.5" shorter. It is not intended to produce any more of this type of chassis (only one has been made). Car at present being overhauled and re-built for experimental tests. The following new features are being fitted to it :- (1) Low compression turbulent head. (2) Central oiling scheme. (3) Narrower hubs and special wheels. (4) Side-by-side rear brakes. (5) Modifications to rear axle and torque tube for lightening. (6) Radiator with shorter tubes. (7) Steering with .900" worm. (8) Modified induction pipe. (9) Modified crankshaft. (10) Modified slipper wheel - etc.etc. It is intended that these parts shall be standardised on the production Phantom if satisfactory. -------------- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
