To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. 400g Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}20.7.39. 14.B.V - CORNICHE. Re your memo of 14/7/39 we will send you the parts for which you ask as soon as they can be collected together. The reduced out-of-centre point yokes etc. are, however, still 6 weeks off so these will have to follow separately. The shop are of the opinion that to change the centre steering lever it will be necessary to remove the radiator which in turn entails removing the engine. Does this appear to be so from an examination of the chassis ? In the meantime will you please try putting 200 lbs. on the roof of the car. Sandbags weighing not more than 50 lbs. each and distributed as uniformly as possible to avoid denting the roof, are probably the easiest way of doing the job. Cords can be tied to each corner of each bag and thence to door handles etc. For your information we enclose a print showing the steering characteristics of 9.B.V. in normal condition and with no roll.
