Re 13 1/2" Cross Cushion Diven Plate.

Dear Sirs,

We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 8th inst and are pleased to have your report in connection with the performance of sample 13 1/2" Cross Cushion Segment Driven Plate as tried out on your Phantom lll Chassis.

We note from your remarks that the Driven Plate performed entirely satisfactory when first fitted to the car but later developed judder, and that you are inclined to be of the opinion that the falling off in performance was due to the moulded material developing polished surface etc.

We are arranging for a similar type Plate but in which the cross cushion segments are staggered alternatively, and which we are referring to as double sided set to be built up, and this will have a total crimp of .050" as requested. We suggest that this second plate be also faced with moulded material in order to get a direct comparison, and when the original plate is removed from the car you return same to us for our examination, we will then arrange for the plate to be re-built with our standard woven type facings without any other alteration.

If you are agreeable to do this, we feel sure you will agree that it will be better for us to take this series of tests step by step making one alteration at a time.
