To PN.{Mr Northey} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} S E C R E T. Handwritten: ✓9940 TRIALS CARS. Handwritten: ✓9680 / ✓9940 With regard to the telephone message this morning asking whether we had any experimental cars fitted with 4-wheel brakes which could be used for Trials Cars. We have 48-PK car. This is the car which we were originally preparing for you to take out to the Grand Prix, afterwards it was sent to France and was run there by Sales until driver Henning's accident. The car has now been repaired. When the correct springs are available, it was our intention to return this car to Sales Dept. This car is a standard new series. On the 'phone this morning we forgot 59-PK car. This car is fitted with 4-wheel brakes and we delivered it to Sales several weeks ago. It is fitted with a Hooper Limousine body and is completely finished. It would require to have the front springs changed and one or two small modifications to the brakes. We believe this car is in the Bond Street Garage. These are the only two cars which, in our opinion, would be suitable for trials. Will you please let us know what you wish us to do. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We have just heard that it is possible we shall get the new springs in 8 or 10 days time. | ||
