Herbert Clark Esq,
Bendix-Brakes Ltd,
Kings Road,
Tyseley,
Birmingham.

Dear Mr. Clark,

I thank you for your letter of the 15th inst, and also for Mr. Wynne's letter of the 13th.

With regard to carburetters - the figures you give are very interesting, and I propose to retain the curves, unless you want them back, as they might be useful for reference. As I have previously pointed out to you, however, I do not think there is any chance of us being able to test the Stromberg carburetter, for the time being.

With regard to the brakes. Whilst you were here, we explained the impossibility of fitting front wheel brakes to R.R. cars, -> old type as there are not the necessary modifications to the front axle, road springs, etc, to make such a fitting safe. I am sure you will understand that these points are in no way exagerated, and therefore suggest you have nothing to do with such a half-hearted conversion - I am certain that it would result in no good being done to yourselves or to the R.R. Co.

With regard to the clutch control, we have removed the remaining flexibility from the car fitted with your unit, and I am arranging to let you have it next week, to complete your tests.

Yours faithfully,
